The Effect of Happiness on Physical Therapy

Having a positive outlook really does have physical rewards.

Many of us who suffer from physically debilitating diseases or injuries find it difficult to stay motivated enough to exercise. Let’s face it; even those without pain or physical limitations have a hard time committing to exercise! But think of it this way: if you don’t stick to a physical therapy plan, and if you don’t work on your physical health between sessions, you can’t improve. So, for instance, you might notice that you’re in a better mood after the very first time you work out -- that’s something to celebrate! Enjoying the benefits from the outset will make physical therapy and exercise look less like a chore and more like your most enjoyable time of day.
